CG Spectrum's fully accredited Diploma of Visual Arts CUA51115 specialising in Compositing is a full-time 1 year course. It is designed for students who are interested in careers as Compositors for the film and TV industries.

Study Period 1 Full Time - 15 Weeks

The Introduction to Compositing area lays the foundation for future compositors desiring to be fully versed in compositing basics. By understanding the how and why of basic compositing, you are given the tools to evolve into an industry-bred compositor.

Projcts include:

  1. Introduction to VFX Compositing
  2. Breaking down a typical Nuke comp
  3. Navigating Nuke: Introduction to Nuke UI
  4. Compositing Basics

Study Period 2 Full Time - 15 weeks

The Intermediate Compositing coursework builds upon the foundations laid out in the previous Intro course material. As the budding compositor, you now know the background of what compositing is capable of and are able to begin applying it to real-world, entry-level compositing projects.

Projects include:

  1. Learning NUKE Tools
  2. Roto and Keying Techniques
  3. Digital Painting & Plate Clean Up
  4. Tracking and Live Action Integration

Study Period 3 Full Time - 15 weeks

In Advanced Compositing, you will simulate multiple studio-grade, high-quality projects designed to begin building your demo reel portfolio. By finishing these out with actual portfolio projects, your demo reel will reflect not only your personal artistic aesthetic, but also skills required to gain junior-level compositor employment at any number of studios located around the globe.

Projects include:

  1. Advanced Roto Techniques
  2. Stereo Conversion
  3. Shooting Live Action Plates
  4. Portfolio Assembly
