Founded in 2011 by industry veterans Jeff Pepper and Nick Fredin, CG Spectrum is an online school for visual effects, animation, modelling, concept design and game programming.
Through their experiences at working for major studios, Nick and Jeff noticed that most junior artists in the studio had not received the proper training after graduating. They saw a need for digital art students to have access to training that was specialised, flexible and studio focused.
By giving students access to the most talented artists in the industry as their mentors, this would help ensure that CG Spectrum students are the best connected, best trained and best prepared for life beyond school in their respective fields.
CG Spectrum students will learn the techniques from the artists of major studios worldwide such as EA, Ubisoft, Weta and ILM.
For a student to reach their full potential and achieve the best possible outcomes, they must be nurtured and given every opportunity to not only develop, but to thrive.
CG Spectrum students are taught by world-class mentors, learn in small class sizes, have access to world class software and have the opportunity to attend exclusive events that others wouldn’t otherwise be able to.
Graduates will also have access to our state of the art CG Lab in downtown Melbourne.
